Equipment manufacturer Mares donated this BC and regulator to this lucky winner on Sunday.

Discussions were lively Friday night at the meet and greet party with the two Sams (upper photo) and Alec Peirce (bottom photo).

The staff kept busy Saturday checking credentials and registering guests for the record dive attempt.

Carrie Sowden (standing) and Robert Graham speak about the wrecks in the Great Lakes and confirm the work of their Maritime Archaeological Survey Team. The event was well attended by double hose members (above right photo). Robert speaks in the bottom photo.

Jerry Anderson of WTOL-TV interviews Shelby on the first day.

There were many bargains and vintage gear to take advantage of on Sunday at the Swap Meet.

Sue Freshouk and Tony Partridge of Dalton, Georgia, provided comic relief with their home-sewn Scooby Doo outfit.

You Had to be There: Samuel and Debborah Lecocq (center) met with guests in the meet-and-greet Friday evening. Also pictured are quarry regulars Tom Wyble, Tom and Linda Briggle.

The two Sams meet with Toledo Water Rescue team members.

One of the attractions for the weekend was the Landing Vehicle, Tracked (LVT) in the top photo presented by local resident Tom Price. This LVT was used in the filming of a fall release movie with Clint Eastwood called the Flags of Our Fathers, a story of Iwo Jima. This is one of six known LVTs in operation. On hand by Tom Price and his USMC motor pool included the utility truck shown here, Willy's jeeps and Mighty Midget jeeps. Click here for pictures of the LVT and its venture in the quarry.

Gy. Sgt. Don Preston (right) from Detroit Retired USMC. He was a Drill Instructor at Parris Island. He and his wife Lisa are avid divers and often camp at the Quarry. Selected dive photos with Record Dive Attempt underwater photos.
